Jio IPO Likely by October End with Over ₹12 Trillion Valuation

Jio Platforms Set for Landmark IPO as Valuation Surpasses ₹12 Trillion

Jio Platforms is gearing up for a significant IPO, potentially marking a transformative moment in India’s capital markets.

Jio Platforms, the digital services arm of Reliance Industries, is poised to launch its initial public offering (IPO) by the end of October, with an enterprise valuation projected to exceed ₹12 trillion. This IPO is expected to be one of the largest in India, aiming to raise approximately $3.8 billion.

A Historic Offering

Sources familiar with the matter indicate that Jio Platforms is set to file its final IPO papers with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) during the week starting October 12. Following a series of successful roadshows in key financial hubs including the US, UK, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Singapore, the company is expected to initiate an anchor round before the festival of Dussehra, with the public offering likely opening shortly thereafter.

This IPO is particularly notable as it represents the first public offering from the Reliance group since 2008 and the first for a consumer-focused business within the conglomerate. The anticipation surrounding the IPO reflects the robust interest in India’s primary market, which has seen a surge in activity with numerous IPOs launched since July.

Strong Market Position

Jio Platforms, which encompasses Reliance’s digital services, has established a formidable presence in the Indian telecom sector. With a market share of 32.89% in fixed-line connections and 39.29% in mobile connections, Jio serves over 506 million mobile customers. The company also boasts the largest 5G Standalone network outside of China, with 26.85 crore 5G users as of June 2026.

Jio’s extensive network capabilities position it as a leader in the Fixed Wireless Access segment globally, significantly outpacing competitors like T-Mobile. The company claims that its 5G network handles nearly 60% of India’s wireless data traffic, underscoring its critical role in the country’s digital infrastructure.

Financial Performance and Growth Prospects

In FY26, Jio Platforms reported a profit after tax of ₹30,053 crore, reflecting a 15% increase year-on-year, alongside a 14.5% rise in revenue to ₹1,46,885 crore. Analysts predict a compounded annual growth rate of 18% for Jio’s profit after tax between FY26 and FY30, indicating strong growth potential that aligns with the company’s expanding digital ecosystem, which includes cloud services, artificial intelligence, and enterprise network solutions.

The IPO will also attract significant attention from global investors, as Jio has previously secured substantial investments from major players like Meta and Google, alongside a consortium of other financial institutions. This backing not only enhances Jio’s credibility but also signals strong investor confidence in its business model and growth trajectory.
