What is an XIRR Calculator?

An XIRR Calculator helps investors calculate the annualised return of an investment when multiple cash flows occur on different dates. It is particularly useful for mutual fund investments, SIPs, SWPs and portfolios where investments and withdrawals happen at irregular intervals.

How does an XIRR Calculator work?

XIRR considers both the amount and the exact date of every cash flow. It calculates the annualised rate at which the present value of all cash flows becomes zero.

Why use XIRR instead of simple return?

  • It considers the timing of every investment.
  • It is useful when investments are made on different dates.
  • It can measure returns for SIP and irregular investments.
  • It can be used to evaluate withdrawals and portfolio cash flows.
Important: XIRR is an annualised return calculation based on the cash flows and dates entered. It does not guarantee future investment returns. Actual investment performance may differ.
