Diamond Power Infra Gains After Winning Rs 116 Crore Power Cable Order

Diamond Power Infrastructure Secures Major Cable Order, Boosting Investor Confidence

The recent order win positions Diamond Power Infrastructure as a key player in Gujarat’s underground cabling initiative.

Diamond Power Infrastructure has announced a significant order worth Rs 116.49 crore for the supply of 11 kV XLPE insulated medium voltage power cables, marking a vital step in its growth strategy. This development is expected to enhance the company’s market position and investor sentiment.

Details of the Order

Diamond Power Infrastructure’s stock rose by 1.05% to Rs 371 following the announcement of the contract, which involves the supply of approximately 655 km of three-core aluminium XLPE cables in various sizes (300, 240, 95, and 70 square millimeters). The order comes from a Gujarat-based EPC contractor engaged in underground cabling projects for state power distribution companies.

The cables will be manufactured at the company’s integrated plant near Vadodara, utilizing aluminium sourced from its own rod mills. The supply will occur in lots, contingent on manufacturing clearances and utility-specified inspections and testing.

Strategic Importance of the Order

Kavish Shah, Vice President of Diamond Power Infrastructure, emphasized the significance of this order, stating that Gujarat’s distribution utilities are transitioning large parts of their urban networks underground to enhance reliability and resilience. This initiative aligns with the state’s broader goals of modernizing its power infrastructure.

The successful acquisition of four orders in a single day reflects the trust that EPC contractors and utilities place in Diamond Power’s quality, testing standards, and delivery capabilities. This trust is crucial as the company navigates the competitive landscape of power cable manufacturing.
