PC Jeweller’s Debt-Free Status and Strong Q2 Results Propel Stock Surge

The impressive performance of PC Jeweller, marked by its debt-free status and robust quarterly earnings, has caught the attention of investors, driving its stock price up significantly.

PC Jeweller’s shares surged 9% following the announcement of its second-quarter results for FY27, showcasing a remarkable recovery and growth trajectory. The company’s achievement of a debt-free status further enhances its appeal to investors.

Strong Q2 Performance

PC Jeweller reported a net profit of ₹330.66 crore for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27, reflecting a substantial 58% increase year-on-year. This growth was driven by a 28% rise in total income, which reached ₹1,054.47 crore, compared to ₹825.25 crore in the same quarter last year. While expenses also rose to ₹759.42 crore from ₹688.85 crore, the overall financial health of the company has improved significantly.

Debt-Free Milestone

A key highlight of the quarter was PC Jeweller’s achievement of a debt-free status, having repaid all outstanding dues to its 14 consortium banks ahead of schedule. This milestone is seen as a significant turning point for the company, alleviating one of the major concerns that had previously weighed on its stock. Balaji Rao Mudili, a research analyst at Bonanza, emphasized that this development enhances the credibility of PC Jeweller’s recovery story, indicating that the company is now positioned for sustainable growth.

Expansion Plans and Market Performance

In addition to its financial achievements, PC Jeweller plans to expand its footprint by opening up to 100 large-format showrooms across Tier I, II, and III cities over the next 12 to 18 months. This expansion strategy, which includes both owned and asset-light franchise models, is expected to bolster the company’s market presence and drive future revenue growth.

Analyst Insights

Analysts are optimistic about PC Jeweller’s future performance. Sachin Gupta, VP of technical research at Choice Equity Broking, noted that the stock is showing signs of a potential bullish breakout, supported by increased price and trading volumes.
