Ajit Mishra Favors Airtel, BSE, TVS Motor; Cautions on Nifty Below 22,825

Three Stocks Offer Setups as Nifty Faces a Key Technical Test

Ajit Mishra’s recommendations favour selective stock opportunities, while the Nifty’s position below its 20-day average keeps the broader market outlook cautious.

Religare Broking’s Ajit Mishra has recommended buy positions in Bharti Airtel, BSE and TVS Motor, citing improving or sustained technical momentum in each stock. His market view remains guarded: the Nifty’s inability to hold above 22,825, alongside elevated crude prices and global uncertainty, argues for selective trading and disciplined risk management.

A fragile recovery leaves the market exposed to global cues

The Nifty ended the session around 22,698, down 0.22%, after falling below 22,500 at one point. That intraday weakness, followed by a marginally lower close, points to an unsettled market rather than a decisive recovery. Buying at lower levels has yet to establish a sustained upward direction, according to Mishra’s assessment.

Crude oil near $115 a barrel and geopolitical concerns over possible supply disruption added pressure. Investors were also cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision, with its accompanying commentary a potential influence on bond yields, the dollar and foreign portfolio flows. IT stocks led declines after recent outperformance, while realty and energy shares also weakened. Broader-market indices edged higher, but participation was selective.

The 22,825 level is central to the Nifty outlook

Mishra identifies the Nifty’s 20-day exponential moving average, or 20-DEMA, around 22,825 as an important near-term marker. The index has not been able to sustain a move above that level, keeping his technical view cautious. A durable move back above it could help improve the near-term picture, while continued weakness would reinforce the case for restraint. Neither outcome is assured by the current session alone.

For investors, the distinction is between individual chart setups and the direction of the broader market. A favourable pattern in a stock can coexist with market-wide volatility. Mishra therefore advises traders to be selective, avoid aggressive leverage and use disciplined risk controls while the index lacks a clearer trend.

Airtel, BSE and TVS Motor: the recommended trade levels

Bharti Airtel is recommended as a buy with a target of ₹2,090 and a stop-loss of ₹1,880, against the cited last traded price of ₹1,948.1. Mishra points to an upside breakout from a consolidation base near long-term support, a rebound from its rising long-term EMA and a higher-high, higher-low structure. Rising volume during the breakout is presented as evidence of stronger participation.

BSE has a buy recommendation, a ₹3,780 target and a ₹3,340 stop-loss, compared with a cited price of ₹3,485. Its setup centres on a higher low after a prolonged corrective phase, a move back above short- and medium-term EMAs, and rising volume. Mishra views sustained trading above those averages as a factor that could reinforce the recovery, not as a guarantee of further gains.

TVS Motor is recommended as a buy with a ₹4,580 target and a ₹4,070 stop-loss, against a cited price of ₹4,239.9. The stock had consolidated in the ₹3,800–₹4,200 range after correcting from record highs and finding support near its 200-day EMA. Mishra says it has broken above that range on strong volume, a pattern he interprets as potential continuation of its existing uptrend.
