Adani Energy Solutions Rises 5.5%, Marks Third Consecutive Winning Session

Adani Energy Solutions Gains Momentum Amid New Renewable Energy Initiative

The stock’s recent performance highlights investor optimism surrounding government initiatives in the renewable energy sector.

Adani Energy Solutions has seen a notable rise in its stock price, gaining 5.5% in a single session, marking its third consecutive day of gains. This surge comes amid a broader market that has remained relatively subdued, with the Nifty 50 index experiencing a slight decline.

Significant Government Backing

The recent uptick in Adani Energy Solutions’ stock can be attributed to the Union Cabinet’s approval of the ₹1.86 trillion PM-DHARA Scheme. This initiative aims to establish an intra-state transmission system equipped with 50GWh battery storage, facilitating the evacuation of 135 GW of renewable energy. The scheme, which stands for PM-Developing Harmonized and Accelerated Renewable-energy Access, is expected to significantly bolster the infrastructure necessary for renewable energy transmission.

Analysts view this development as a critical step towards achieving India’s ambitious target of 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. Kranthi Bathini, director of equity strategy at WealthMills Securities, emphasized that the power sector has shown resilience, with rising demand necessitating capacity expansion across transmission, distribution, and generation.

Market Performance and Trading Activity

On the trading front, Adani Energy Solutions opened at ₹1,318.10 and reached an intraday high of ₹1,385.90, reflecting a robust trading volume with over 4 million shares exchanged on the NSE, valued at ₹544.1 crore. This activity positions the stock among the most actively traded equities, indicating strong investor interest.

The stock’s performance stands in stark contrast to the Nifty 50 index, which was down by approximately 0.20% during the same period. This divergence highlights the specific investor confidence in Adani Energy Solutions, driven by the positive sentiment surrounding the PM-DHARA initiative.

Technical Analysis and Future Outlook

From a technical perspective, Harish Jujarey, head of technical equity research at Prithvi Finmart, noted that the stock has recently found support near its key 200-day moving average. Following a period of correction, the stock has shown signs of recovery, breaking out of a bullish Head and Shoulders pattern, supported by increased trading volumes.

Looking ahead, Jujarey suggests that the stock could extend its recovery towards the 50-day moving average, projected around ₹1,500 in the short term. However, he cautions that the 200-day moving average near ₹1,280 will serve as a critical support level for the stock.
