First Module Operational

Neuland Laboratories has successfully commissioned its first peptide manufacturing module at its commercial site, marking a significant step in its expansion strategy. This module boasts a total reactor capacity of 7,000 liters, with 750 liters dedicated to solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and 6,250 liters for liquid-phase peptide synthesis (LPPS). The operational flexibility of this module allows Neuland to cater to a diverse range of customer programs, from small-scale to multi-kilogram quantities of complete peptide active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

The strategic design of the facility, which includes separate suites for SPPS and LPPS reactors, enables parallel operations. This is further supported by three dedicated DAC columns and two lyophilisers, enhancing the production efficiency and capacity for crude peptide manufacturing.

Future Expansion Plans

Following a substantial investment of $30 million in the first module, Neuland is already aligning further investments for the subsequent modules. The second module is anticipated to significantly increase capacity, with plans for up to 18,000 liters of reactor capacity. This will include three LPPS reactors of 5,000 liters each, along with either a 1,000-liter or 2,000-liter SPPS reactor, and smaller reactors to accommodate various production scales.

The accelerated timeline for the second module is contingent upon finalizing customer requirements, with Neuland working closely with clients to define configurations and instrumentation. This proactive approach positions the company to meet the evolving needs of its partners effectively.
