Aequs Shares Surge as Promoter Group Plans Major Equity Infusion
The recent rally in Aequs shares highlights investor confidence following a significant equity infusion plan by the promoter group.
Aequs Share Price Movement
Aequs shares have experienced a remarkable rally, hitting a new high of ₹286.05 on the BSE during intraday trading. This surge represents a 5% increase from the previous day and marks the fourth consecutive day of gains for the aerospace and defence company. Over this period, the stock has soared by 18%, reflecting a robust investor sentiment following the announcement of a significant equity infusion plan.
In the past six months, Aequs shares have skyrocketed by 136%, rising from ₹121 on March 30, 2026. This impressive performance has outpaced the broader market, as indicated by a 0.42% rise in the BSE Sensex during the same trading session.
Details of the Equity Infusion
On September 25, 2026, Aequs’ board approved a preferential issue of up to 28.07 million warrants, convertible into fully paid-up equity shares, to Mellwood Trustee Services Private Limited, a member of the promoter group. This move aims to raise approximately ₹650 crore, with the shares priced at ₹231.55 each. The issuance is subject to shareholder approval and regulatory clearances.
Upon full conversion of the warrants, the promoter group’s stake in Aequs will increase from 59.09% to 60.73%. The proceeds from this equity infusion will primarily fund capacity expansion across Aequs’ aerospace and consumer businesses, including the development of its Hosur facility and investments in subsidiaries and joint ventures.
Growth Prospects and Strategic Outlook
Aequs specializes in precision machining for various aerospace components and has outlined an ambitious growth trajectory. The company’s managing director has projected a revenue growth of 25-30% in the aerospace segment for FY27, with an EBITDA margin expected to remain above 20%.
Supporting this growth is a strong order book exceeding $1 billion, which has seen a 13% quarter-on-quarter increase. Analysts at Motilal Oswal Financial Services have noted that this robust order pipeline positions Aequs well for sustained revenue growth over the next five years.
In the consumer segment, Aequs anticipates exponential growth, with revenue projected to increase 10-18 times over the next five years. The company aims to achieve EBITDA breakeven by Q4FY27, driven by improved capacity utilization.
