ArMee Infotech Shares Slide 2% Below IPO Price After Listing

ArMee Infotech Faces Challenging Market Debut as Shares Dip Below IPO Price

ArMee Infotech’s lackluster listing raises questions about investor sentiment and future growth potential.

The initial public offering (IPO) of ArMee Infotech has not met market expectations, with shares trading below the IPO price shortly after listing. Investors are now weighing the company’s growth prospects against its financial health and market position.

Tepid Market Reception

ArMee Infotech shares made their debut on the stock exchanges on Wednesday, listing at ₹368.85 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which represents a 1.64% discount to the IPO price of ₹375. On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), shares opened at ₹375, but quickly fell to a low of ₹320 on the BSE, marking a significant decline of 14.6% from the offer price. The initial enthusiasm seen in the grey market, where shares were priced at ₹381, did not translate into actual trading performance.

Investor Sentiment and Concerns

Analysts have expressed mixed views on ArMee Infotech’s outlook. Shivani Nyati, head of wealth at Swastika Investmart, noted that while the company’s valuation appears reasonable compared to its peers, several red flags could deter investors. These include declining profit after tax (PAT) margins, elevated debt levels, and a significant concentration of customers. Nyati suggested that existing shareholders maintain a stop-loss around ₹350 and consider fresh investments only after clearer signs of improved profitability and reduced leverage.

IPO Performance and Subscription Details

The ₹300-crore IPO of ArMee Infotech received a lukewarm response from investors, with a total subscription of 2.44 times. The qualified institutional buyer (QIB) segment was the most enthusiastic, being subscribed 2.99 times, while the non-institutional investor (NII) and retail segments were subscribed 2.09 times and 2.47 times, respectively. The IPO was entirely a fresh share sale, with proceeds aimed at funding business expansion, working capital needs, and repaying outstanding borrowings.
