Sonaselection IPO Receives Neutral Analyst Rating Amid Cash Flow Concerns

Sonaselection IPO Faces Neutral Analyst Ratings Amid Cash Flow Concerns

Analysts express caution over Sonaselection’s IPO, highlighting cash flow issues as a significant concern for potential investors.

The Sonaselection India IPO, valued at ₹141.57 crore, has opened for bidding, but analysts have assigned a ‘Neutral’ rating due to concerns over negative cash flows and high working capital requirements. While the company boasts a strong growth trajectory, its geographic concentration and reliance on a limited customer base raise red flags.

IPO Overview and Subscription Status

Sonaselection India’s IPO opened for bidding on September 17, 2026, and is set to close on September 21, 2026. The issue comprises a fresh issue of 1.43 crore equity shares, with a price band set between ₹94 and ₹99 per share. As of the first day of bidding, the IPO was subscribed 0.35 times overall, with retail investors leading the demand at 0.57 times. However, the Non-Institutional Investors (NII) category stood at a mere 0.14 times, and Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) (Ex-Anchor) reached only 0.11 times, indicating a lukewarm response from institutional investors.

Analyst Ratings and Concerns

Brokerages such as SBI Securities and Swastika have both assigned a ‘Neutral’ rating to the IPO, citing several concerns that could impact its long-term viability. SBI Securities highlighted the company’s negative operating cash flows, which amounted to ₹14.2 crore in FY25 and are projected to worsen to ₹110 crore in FY26. This raises questions about the company’s liquidity and ability to sustain operations without additional financing.

Moreover, the company’s geographic concentration in Rajasthan is alarming, with 37.3% of its revenue and a staggering 96% of its raw material procurement coming from this single state. Such dependence on a limited geographic area could expose Sonaselection to regional economic fluctuations and supply chain disruptions. Additionally, the reliance on a small number of key customers without long-term supply contracts further complicates its revenue stability.

Growth Potential and Strengths

Despite these concerns, analysts acknowledge Sonaselection’s growth potential. The company has reported impressive growth figures, with projected revenue, EBITDA, and PAT CAGRs of 107%, 73%, and 61% respectively from FY24 to FY26. This growth is attributed to its transition to a manufacturing-led business model, which has allowed it to diversify its product offerings, including cotton, lycra, polyester blends, and ready-made garments.

Furthermore, Sonaselection’s integrated manufacturing facility, equipped with an in-house quality control laboratory and warehousing capabilities, positions it well to meet the demands of a broad domestic customer base. The establishment of recurring business relationships also adds a layer of stability to its operations.
