Varmora Granito IPO Subscription Hits 11% on First Day

Varmora Granito’s IPO Faces Slow Start Amid Market Conditions

The initial public offering of Varmora Granito has garnered only 11% subscription on its opening day, raising questions about investor sentiment.

The Varmora Granito IPO opened for subscription on September 22, 2026, but has only attracted bids for 37.24 lakh shares out of the 3.39 crore shares available, indicating a subscription rate of just 0.11 times. The issue will remain open until September 24, 2026, with a price band set between ₹140 and ₹148 per share, allowing investors to bid for a minimum of 101 equity shares and in multiples thereof.

Understanding the IPO Structure

The Varmora Granito IPO comprises both a fresh issue and an offer for sale (OFS). The fresh issue consists of 2,16,21,622 shares, expected to raise up to ₹320 crore at the upper price band of ₹148. The OFS includes 2,62,17,634 shares, aggregating to ₹388 crore at the same price point. Notably, Katsura Investments is set to divest a portion of its stake through the OFS.

The funds raised from the IPO are earmarked for repaying certain borrowings by Varmora Granito and its subsidiaries, CovertekCeramica Private Limited and VarmoraSanitarywares Private Limited. The remaining capital will be allocated for general corporate purposes, which is essential for the company’s operational flexibility.

Investor Sentiment and Market Conditions

The lukewarm response to Varmora Granito’s IPO can be attributed to various market dynamics, including investor sentiment and broader economic conditions. The recent volatility in the stock market, coupled with rising interest rates and inflation concerns, may have led to cautious behavior among potential investors.
